Nurse Practitioner – National After-Hours Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver empathetic telephonic care and clinical guidance to residents and facility personnel during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Act as the primary support after-hours, offering medical advice and care via phone.

• Utilize Curana’s telephonic platform for making and receiving calls.

• Facilitate care coordination between facilities, hospitals, and clinics.

• Provide care for acute, chronic, and behavioral health issues in partnership with physicians and specialty providers.

• Conduct a minimum of 30% telehealth visits, including assessments of acute changes, falls, and controlled substance visits.

• Independently manage multiple calls across various states.

• Carry out thorough assessments and accurately document interactions in the EMR in line with CMS requirements.

• Implement clinical protocols and practice guidelines to ensure safe treatment in place whenever feasible.

• Engage in mandatory education and training.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Current unrestricted NP license in Iowa, Missouri, or Ohio; candidates must hold licenses in at least 2 of these states for consideration.

• Capability to acquire additional multi-state licenses, including Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

• National Nurse Practitioner certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP.

• Ability to obtain DEA licensure / Prescriptive Authority.

• Experience in managing acute and chronic diseases.

• Clinical experience in adult, family, or geriatric care.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Ability to obtain a collaborative practice agreement, if required in your state(s).

• Willingness to work scheduled shifts in accordance with scheduling policies.

• Proficient in computer skills, including the documentation of medical information with written and electronic medical records.

• Comfortable handling high volumes of calls.

• Capable of conducting at least 30% telehealth visits.

• Availability for overnight, holiday, and weekend shifts is required.
