Nurse Educator – Hybrid Remote

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, design, develop, and assess nursing, clinical, training, professional development, and specialized training programs.

• Ensure competency and educational standards across all clinical disciplines.

• Provide internal consultation to management and teams regarding clinical education initiatives.

• Develop, coordinate, and assess the onboarding and orientation processes for clinical personnel.

• Identify the orientation needs of clinical staff.

• Oversee and evaluate the competency assessment process in collaboration with management teams.

• Support the development of professional roles.

• Implement special projects as requested by the CED Leadership Team.

• Advocate for research, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement within educational environments.

• Instruct, coordinate, act as a liaison, and mentor nurses and other learners.

• Collaborate with interprofessional teams, nursing officers, directors, managers, and stakeholders to enhance nursing practice and achieve positive outcomes.

• Conduct assessments of learning needs and share the findings.

• Propose educational strategies that align with regulatory and accrediting standards.

• Develop and sustain educational materials and programs guided by adult learning principles.

• Act as a nurse planner for continuing education initiatives.

• Maintain AHA instructor credentials and engage in AHA training sessions.

• Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost when planning clinical professional development activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.

• Current West Virginia Nursing License, or eligibility to obtain licensure within 60 days of employment.

• Must achieve American Heart Association Instructor Status (BLS, ACLS, and PALS) within one year of employment.

• A minimum of five years of nursing experience is required.

• Proficiency in computer use for communication and the development of educational programs and materials.

• Expertise in the Standards of National Professional Development practice (NPD), including onboarding/orientation, competency management, education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and Research/Evidence-Based Practice and Quality Improvement.

• Ability to regularly lift and transport materials and equipment weighing at least twenty-five pounds, as well as stoop and push heavy carts and equipment.

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.

• Certification in Nursing Professional Development or a specialty is preferred.

• At least one year of experience in teaching/learning methodologies is preferred.
