This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Oversee and manage the network security infrastructure, which includes Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls, Network Access Control platforms, and micro-segmentation systems.
• Conduct audits of configurations on routers, switches, and wireless devices.
• Monitor and maintain firewall infrastructure, VPN, NAC platform, micro-segmentation platform, and various security tools.
• Work collaboratively with information security and network teams to establish and enforce security policies and configurations.
• Analyze and troubleshoot firewall rule sets that impact application performance and availability.
• Support change management by evaluating configuration impacts and implementing approved changes.
• Participate in team and departmental meetings, providing updates on projects, initiatives, and incidents.
• Ensure compliance with IT Architecture principles, guidelines, and Information Security Standards.
• Collaborate with external partners to deliver network security services.
• Utilize AlgoSec or Tufin to analyze firewall rule sets, identify misconfigurations and gaps, and optimize policies.
• Execute micro-segmentation using firewalls and tools such as Illumio or Guardicore.
• Respond to support calls, incidents, and requests related to network and security infrastructure.
• Configure and enhance firewall logs sent to the SOC.
• Adhere to SOPs and maintain daily operational checklists.
• At least 3+ years of networking experience and 2 years of practical firewall engineering experience.
• Proven experience managing Palo Alto Firewall infrastructure within an enterprise environment.
• Extensive hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting using Palo Alto Panorama and SCM (Strata Cloud Manager) interfaces.
• PCNSA, PCNSE, or CISSP certifications are preferred.
• Strong understanding and broad troubleshooting experience with VPN technologies (site-to-site, remote access client, IPSec, IKE, tunnel modes, SSL, and tunnels between firewalls).
• Experience in micro-segmentation within a virtualized Data Center environment.
• Familiarity with Network Access Control (NAC) concepts and fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of network engineering, SDWAN, and LAN/WAN technologies and topologies.
• Fundamental understanding of Cisco routers, switches, and Cisco and Aruba wireless infrastructure.
• Ability to operate within a 24/7 environment across multiple time zones.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
