This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Execute implementation tasks for DISA networking and infrastructure initiatives.
β’ Leverage extensive knowledge of DISA/DOD IT network infrastructure in your assignments.
β’ Conduct site infrastructure installations, which include racks, cable racks, power, grounding, and cabling.
β’ Set up network infrastructure, mount telecommunications hardware, install and terminate cables/fibers, test, and pre-commission equipment.
β’ Supervise, assign tasks, and coordinate a team of 1 to 2 Network Installation Technicians from deployment to project close-out.
β’ Employ baseline equipment connectivity diagrams to address site-specific connectivity issues.
β’ Collaborate with Test and Acceptance personnel to facilitate remote access to network devices.
β’ Install networking hardware and software components with standard configurations.
β’ Carry out circuit wiring, inspection, testing, and activation.
β’ Decommission and remove network nodes as required.
β’ Oversee the preparation of completion and status reports with comprehensive network configuration documentation.
β’ Install routers, servers, patch panels, cryptographic materials, switches, firewalls, and timing and synchronization equipment.
β’ Utilize JDSU or similar network testing equipment.
β’ Conduct small to large installations with minimal supervision.
β’ Accurately report on installation status and completion.
β’ Lead installation teams and coordinate on-site activities to achieve operational acceptance of hardware.
β’ High School Diploma is mandatory.
β’ Minimum of 3 years of experience in network infrastructure build-out, mounting telecommunications hardware, and cable/fiber installation, termination, and testing.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in installing network routers, servers, patch panels, cryptographic materials, switches, firewalls, timing and synchronization devices, and communications equipment.
β’ Previous hands-on experience with Ciena 6500/Ciena RSL/Ciena Wave Server products is highly preferred.
β’ BICSI Certification is required.
β’ OEM networking certifications are essential.
β’ Familiarity with ANSI/TIA standards is necessary.
β’ Ability to work independently or assume a leadership role within a team is a must.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, VISIO, and Word) as needed for reporting, redlining, and communication.
β’ Active Secret clearance; or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
β’ Candidates can be located anywhere in the US but must be willing to travel at least 70% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
β’ Capability to type, communicate via telephone, and remain seated for extended periods.
β’ Ability to lift or lower objects weighing more than 50lbs, including upward pulling movements.
