This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Execute the installation and removal of telecommunications equipment and its components.
β’ Diagnose and resolve issues associated with telecommunications systems.
β’ Carry out technical tasks independently on small to medium upgrades and installation projects.
β’ Set up infrastructure, including racks and ironwork such as ladder racks and subfloor systems.
β’ Oversee fiber and copper cable systems, including Panduit raceway and Fiber Management Systems.
β’ Identify DC power cable routes and conduct wax cord lacing.
β’ Terminate, clean, and test RJ45, coaxial/BNC, wire wrap, and fiber optic cables.
β’ Measure light levels in fiber optics and perform scoping activities.
β’ Conduct HTAP grounding.
β’ Utilize Microsoft Office suite for reviewing and understanding requirements.
β’ Complete redlining, Daily Status Reports, Site Completion Reports, and survey reports.
β’ One to two years of experience or exposure to the construction, maintenance, or repair of various types of telecommunications or electronics equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
β’ Completion of an accredited vocational or technical program in telecommunications or a related field may substitute for some required experience.
β’ Extensive knowledge of several common types of communications installations.
β’ Theoretical and practical knowledge of various network devices, including routers and switches, from multiple manufacturers.
β’ Skills and expertise necessary to install network devices according to DISN Implementation Standards.
β’ Proficient verbal, written, and graphical business communication skills.
β’ Willingness to travel with team members to fulfill installation assignment requirements.
β’ Active Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
β’ Candidates may be located anywhere in the US but must be willing to travel at least 70% to CONUS and OCONUS locations as needed.
β’ Preferred experience with government network systems.
β’ Preferred exposure to cable running, splicing, and connectors.
β’ Possession of a basic telecommunications installation tool kit is preferred.
