Network Infrastructure Chief Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the most significant and intricate pursuits in collaboration with the sales team.

• Act as the executive technical lead from the initial customer engagement through to the closing of deals.

• Conduct customer presentations, executive briefings, and equipment demonstrations either on-site or virtually.

• Provide architect-level supervision on large and complex opportunities.

• Oversee at-risk and critical deals, address technical objections, and drive towards closure.

• Assist the deals desk with matters related to discounting, pricing, and margin escalations.

• Ensure technical continuity during project initiation and facilitate a seamless handover to the delivery team.

• Adapt solution offerings based on market needs, OEM roadmaps, and delivery capabilities.

• Oversee pricing and packaging strategies for the practice by vertical, geography, and customer size.

• Define and articulate the practice roadmap and technical vision.

• Manage strategic relationships with OEMs/vendors and subcontractors.

• Create and deliver presales enablement materials, including solution models, demo standards, and reference architectures.

• Provide regional sales assistance and serve as the escalation point for technical and commercial inquiries.

• Manage procurement vehicles relevant to the practice.

• Integrate AI into scoping, design, estimating, and proposal generation workflows.

• Monitor and report on service delivery capabilities, identifying gaps in skills, staffing, and tools.

• Oversee OEM certification tracking.

• Provide monthly performance reports detailing wins, sales performance, adoption rates, and collaboration with customer success teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching across campus, WAN, and datacenter environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of the OSI model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP protocols.

• Experience with L2 edge switching, L3 routing, VPN, optical transport, and Layer 4-7 services, such as next-generation firewalls, load balancers, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

• Proficient in large-scale and high-density WLAN design, including controller- and cloud-managed solutions.

• Experience with SD-WAN technologies.

• Familiarity with HPE, Juniper, Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Arista, and F5 systems.

• Vendor certifications are preferred.

• Ability to develop reference architectures and standard packages for routing/switching, wireless, and SD-WAN refresh projects.

• Established executive-level relationships with OEMs across the networking vendor landscape.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of ten (10) years of practical experience in the relevant technology field.

• At least five (5) years of hands-on experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or a comparable role.

• Proven track record of leading technical strategies for large and complex opportunities.

• Demonstrated capability to design and price large-scale solutions, including both budgetary and detailed cost estimates.

• Experience in defining offerings, pricing, or packaging for a technology practice or portfolio.

• Experience managing relationships with OEMs/vendors and subcontractor resources.

• Ability to convert customer requirements into a bill of materials (BOM) and system design.

• Competence in presenting confidently to executive and C-level audiences regarding technical and financial advantages.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; adept at prioritizing, multitasking, and adapting to emerging technologies.
