Network Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Take charge of network architecture and set standards for switching, routing, wireless, perimeter firewalls, and voice/telephony infrastructure.

• Oversee design evaluations for practice-side network modifications and new implementations.

• Serve as Tier 3 escalation authority for significant network incidents.

• Lead assessments of tools and vendors for network platforms.

• Guide Network Engineers and Administrators on architecture and standards.

• Represent the network domain during security assessments, audits, and compliance activities.

• Contribute to the evolution of standards and the IT Standards Matrix.

• Collaborate with Projects on intricate network deliveries and ensure seamless hand-offs.

• Coordinate with Systems Engineering on integration points between networking and systems.

• Manage key relationships with ISP and telecom vendors.

• Participate in an on-call rotation.

• Travel occasionally to practice sites, as required.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to further the organization’s mission.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in network engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Experience with voice/telephony platforms such as VoIP, SIP trunking, UCaaS, or contact center solutions.

• Familiarity with Aruba switching/wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet, Auvik, and ServiceNow is advantageous.

• Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.

• Background in Managed Service Provider (MSP) operations is preferred.

• Possession of senior-level or expert technical certifications, including Aruba ACMA/ACMX, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Cisco CCNP.

• Strong multi-platform network engineering skills across switching, routing, wireless, and firewalls.

• Ability to make architectural judgments considering cost, complexity, and security factors.

• Proficient in vendor and stakeholder management for network platforms and ISPs.

• Exceptional technical writing and design communication skills.

• A working understanding of systems and identity to design integrated solutions effectively.

• Regular attendance is a critical job function.
