Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Perform a thorough evaluation of current networks

• Identify network setups, examine traffic trends, and assess security protocols

• Create an updated network framework that includes centralized logging, intrusion detection systems, and monitoring tools

• Ensure the framework complies with NERC-CIP, FISMA, and NIST SP 800 series regulatory standards

• Provide guidance on the procurement, installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment

• Ensure seamless integration of network devices

• Facilitate knowledge transfer for ongoing operations and maintenance

• Generate compliance documentation, policies, and procedures pertaining to network engineering

• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution

• At least 5 years of experience in network engineering

• Demonstrated expertise in network security best practices

• Familiarity with NERC-CIP, FISMA, and NIST SP 800 series regulatory compliance standards

• Experience in network design and implementation

• Background in conducting network assessments, analyzing requirements, and planning for capacity

• Knowledge of change management processes, testing environments, and issue resolution

• Proficient in network protocols, routing, switching, and network security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs

• Strong grasp of network architecture, QoS, and optimization of network performance

• Expertise in access control, intrusion detection, and threat mitigation

• Ability to create network design documentation, policies, and procedures

• Experience in leading and executing network implementation, configuration, and testing tasks

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and backup and recovery procedures

• Capability to obtain a Public Trust

• Must reside within 30 minutes of Mission, Texas
