This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Assist in the daily network operations within a multi-vendor enterprise setting.
• Engage with Cisco and HP Aruba for switching, routing, and wireless infrastructure.
• Manage and support Fortigate and SonicWall firewalls, including security policies, rules, firmware updates, and device health monitoring.
• Set up and resolve issues with site-to-site and remote-access VPNs.
• Provide network support within VMware virtualized environments.
• Conduct daily operational checks and review monitoring alerts.
• Take ownership of network incidents from identification through to resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to the implementation of SD-WAN and the refresh of LAN and Wi-Fi programs.
• Offer design insights and manage site migrations, configurations, testing, cutovers, validation, and the transition of new environments into Business As Usual (BAU) operations.
• Automate repetitive tasks related to configuration, backup, and compliance.
• Keep network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and runbooks up to date.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and technology vendors.
• Hands-on experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise settings.
• Practical knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including switching, routing, and wireless.
• Experience with HP Aruba switching, routing, and wireless solutions.
• Hands-on experience managing Fortigate firewalls, including rules, policies, firmware, and health monitoring.
• Familiarity with SonicWall firewalls.
• Practical experience in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs, including site-to-site and remote-access connections.
• Experience providing networking support within VMware virtualized environments.
• Proficient in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and conducting operational health checks.
• Familiar with ITSM processes, including incident, service request, and change management.
• Experienced in Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes and managing controlled network changes.
• Proficient in using Azure DevOps (ADO) boards for task tracking and delivery.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders, especially during incidents and network changes.
• Ability to work independently across a multi-vendor infrastructure environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Availability to work UK hours from Portugal, based on an agreed schedule.
• Preferred: Experience in SD-WAN implementations, migrations, or site rollouts.
• Preferred: Experience with LAN and Wi-Fi refresh programs, including wireless surveys and deployment activities.
• Preferred: Knowledge of network automation and scripting in Python and/or Ansible.
• Preferred: Experience automating network configurations, backups, or compliance checks.
• Preferred: Understanding of network security and least-privilege principles.
• Preferred: Experience in collaborating with vendor support teams and managing technical escalations.
• Preferred: Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP, Aruba ACMA, Aruba ACMP, or Fortinet certifications.
• Preferred: Experience in maintaining technical documentation, network diagrams, and runbooks in Confluence.
