Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configure, implement, sustain, and provide support for enterprise network infrastructure, including Juniper routers, Dell switches, Palo Alto firewalls, VPN tunnels, security devices, and data center equipment.

• Design, set up, and troubleshoot intricate routing and switching environments.

• Maintain and enforce the design, security, and configuration standards of the enterprise network.

• Ensure connectivity across LAN, WAN, data center, and cloud environments.

• Configure and uphold network security devices, firewall policies, and VPN connectivity.

• Utilize networking expertise to maintain connectivity, address issues, and enhance network operations.

• Provide support for Juniper and Dell voice-related solutions along with their corresponding network infrastructure.

• Troubleshoot voice connectivity and signaling issues related to SIP, H.323, voice codecs, and PSTN gateways.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving network hardware, software, and connectivity.

• Investigate recurring problems, identify root causes, assess alternatives, and implement solutions.

• Execute network projects, installations, upgrades, and modifications to infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain documentation for network designs, configurations, hardware, firmware, software, installations, upgrades, and procedures.

• Collaborate with service providers, internal teams, and customers via ticketing systems, email, and phone.

• Engage in network planning and technology reviews, recommending solutions that align with business and end-user requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in supporting and maintaining network infrastructure within a cloud or enterprise setting.

• 7–10 years of relevant experience as outlined for this position.

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, LAN and WAN technologies, IP routing, DNS, MPLS, SNMP, SMTP, BGP, EIGRP, VPNs, and SIP.

• Extensive hands-on experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Juniper routers, along with a solid understanding of Junos OS.

• Experience in supporting Dell network switches and familiarity with their operating systems.

• Practical experience in configuring and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls, VPN tunnels, and network security devices.

• Strong understanding of SIP, H.323, G.711, G.723, G.729, and PSTN gateways.

• Experience in supporting network infrastructure and delivering projects within large, distributed, multi-department organizations.

• Capability to analyze complex network issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.

• Experience in executing infrastructure implementations, upgrades, and configuration changes.

• Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation and communicate network changes, findings, and recommendations effectively.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
