Nepali VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting for (particularly healthcare and medical). Training will be provided.

• Deliver all messages accurately and comprehensively, avoiding any additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Maintain the highest standards of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretations of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Nepali".

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, but not essential.

• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
