
NEPA Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Perform NEPA impact analyses for public projects and create the necessary NEPA documentation.
β’ Oversee the preparation of legally compliant Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, categorical exclusions, and other environmental compliance documents.
β’ Write sections of relevant NEPA documents.
β’ Supervise NEPA documents produced by subconsultants and ensure quality assurance/quality control for deliverables.
β’ Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as the public, regarding compliance requirements and project specifics.
β’ Document stakeholder feedback and create presentations.
β’ Organize agency and public meetings.
β’ Stay updated on developments and best practices in NEPA law, regulations, policies, and guidance.
β’ Work alongside Project Managers, project teams, clients, and stakeholders to incorporate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
β’ Offer technical support for environmental permitting processes.
β’ Mentor junior staff.
β’ Draft environmental documents and technical studies for linear infrastructure, marine and coastal infrastructure, and coastal restoration.
β’ Manage project deadlines for both agency and internal team activities.
β’ Operate independently and liaise directly with federal agencies, clients, and the NEPA Practice.
β’ Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, geology, planning, or a related field.
β’ A minimum of 7-10 years of NEPA experience, or similar writing and document development experience.
β’ Profound knowledge of NEPA and its relationship with the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Historical Preservation Act.
β’ Capacity to manage time effectively, meet deliverable targets and deadlines, work under pressure, balance multiple priorities, and track several documents simultaneously.
β’ Exceptional research, analytical, writing, oral communication, and organizational abilities.
β’ Willingness to travel as necessary for client functions, conferences, and other business-related activities.
β’ Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication for fostering positive relationships with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
β’ Excellent technical writing and problem-solving skills.
