This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design and implement technical, product, and practice-development training for employees and customers within the independent eye care professional sector.
• Convert intricate optical concepts, technologies, and product details into captivating and practical learning experiences.
• Conduct technical education sessions for sales teams, customer-facing staff, clients, and eye care professionals.
• Oversee annual and ongoing national technical training programs.
• Create training plans and educational experiences that support product launches, advanced optical technologies, business initiatives, and opportunities for practice development.
• Organize training schedules, target audiences, content, resources, and delivery requirements.
• Assess training effectiveness and consistently enhance programs by utilizing learner feedback, business demands, and performance insights.
• Deliver specialized technical and product training to sales representatives, customer service personnel, and other client-facing teams.
• Create educational programs aimed at customers that address patient and practice requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and present ABO/NCLE-compliant continuing education programs.
• Conduct approved continuing education courses during customer events, trade shows, conferences, and additional industry activities.
• Create and refine training materials, presentations, facilitator guides, webinars, job aids, and other educational resources.
• Act as a technical and optical subject matter expert for internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, R&D, Global Training, Customer Service, and Business Development.
• Represent technical training at internal meetings, customer events, trade shows, conferences, and industry forums.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to adapt to changing business needs.
• A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 3-5+ years of experience in training, technical education, facilitation, or a related field, preferably within the optical, vision care, medical device, healthcare, or a similarly technical sector.
• In-depth knowledge of optical products, technologies, industry practices, and pertinent market trends.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering successful technical or product training programs.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, public-speaking, and virtual training skills.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear and actionable information for varied audiences.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of education, product positioning, and practice-development strategies.
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to build effective relationships across functions and organizational levels.
• Capability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a cross-functional environment.
• Proficient in PowerPoint and related presentation and learning technologies.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally.
• Up to 75% travel required.
• Preferred: ABO certification and/or relevant speaker credentials.
• Preferred: NCLE certification or experience in delivering NCLE-approved education.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience working as an optician or in a related optical position.
• Preferred: Licensed or certified optician.
• Preferred: Experience in developing continuing education content.
• Preferred: Experience supporting product launches or commercial training within the optical field.
• Preferred: Experience in delivering education at industry conferences, trade shows, or large customer events.
• In-person, virtual, and blended learning delivery formats.
