This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Provide expert assistance to customers’ DBA teams.
• Collect pertinent data and analyze database issues.
• Deliver comprehensive, easily understandable analyses through email, instant messaging, or voice communication.
• Facilitate screen-sharing sessions for critical and production-impacting problems.
• Assist customers in efficiently navigating and resolving issues.
• Write blog articles for the open-source community.
• Respond to inquiries on the forum.
• Develop customer-facing knowledge base articles.
• Organize webinars and engage in various community support initiatives.
• Solid hands-on experience with MySQL and InnoDB.
• Proficient with tools and technologies within the MySQL ecosystem.
• Familiarity with performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning.
• Understanding of backup solutions such as Xtrabackup and mydumper.
• Knowledge of Point-in-Time Recovery.
• Experience with high-availability solutions, including replication, routers, and proxies.
• Practical experience with zero-downtime procedures.
• Strong understanding of monitoring requirements.
• Proven experience in administering Linux-based systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot systematically, identify and implement fixes for known issues, and resolve complex problems.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, or customer visits.
• Experience interacting with customers in English.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes is highly desirable.
• Experience in SLA-bound operations is a significant advantage.
• Contributions to the open-source community are a plus.
• Familiarity with screen-sharing and phone support is an asset.
• Knowledge of Galera, XtraDB Cluster, ProxySQL, or Orchestrator is beneficial.
• Understanding of AWS, RDS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Percona Monitoring & Management and other monitoring tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Percona Toolkit is a plus.
• MySQL DBA professional certifications are an advantage.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MyRocks, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and advanced Linux troubleshooting tools is a plus.
