This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create and report stories for both digital and print audiences, customizing content for each platform.
• Capture photographs to accompany stories.
• Generate local story ideas on a daily basis and adapt to newsroom priorities.
• Utilize social media and digital tools to discover breaking news and gauge real-time audience interests.
• Build relationships with sources to uncover stories and influence the news agenda.
• Submit video clips for digital platforms.
• Work alongside digital teams to produce interactive content and multimedia features.
• Graduate from a journalism program or a related field.
• Capability to quickly assess and prioritize tasks to enhance learning and performance.
• Proficiency in writing effectively across various formats including breaking news, features, short form, explainers, and Q&As.
• Competence in using digital tools and social media for news gathering and story development.
• Experience in reporting and writing for both digital and print mediums.
• Skilled in capturing photographs for stories.
• Experience in submitting video clips for digital platforms.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Background in video or podcast presentation is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a newsroom setting is beneficial.
• A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are considered assets.
• Work remotely from London.
• This is a unionized position, governed by the terms and conditions of the collective agreement.
