MSP Technology Operations Specialist – SolarWinds

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert for Jolera's SolarWinds Platform within its managed service framework.

• Oversee the administration and upkeep of the SolarWinds Platform and its related modules.

• Manage the configuration of the platform, including users, permissions, licensing, polling engines, monitoring templates, alerts, dashboards, and reports.

• Take ownership of the SolarWinds technical aspects during client onboarding.

• Identify the infrastructure and services that require monitoring and onboard servers, network devices, applications, storage, virtualization, and other supported infrastructure.

• Set up polling methods, monitoring templates, thresholds, alerts, dependencies, dashboards, and reports.

• Ensure monitoring accuracy and resolve any onboarding or communication issues prior to service launch.

• Monitor the platform's health, performance, capacity, and alerting efficiency.

• Conduct maintenance, upgrades, patches, and configuration adjustments in accordance with Change Management procedures.

• Create automation solutions utilizing SolarWinds APIs, PowerShell, scripting, and other relevant technologies.

• Establish and maintain integrations with PSA, ITSM, RMM, reporting, CMDB, and automation platforms.

• Provide advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical escalation support for SolarWinds-related issues.

• Produce documentation, standards, procedures, and best practices.

• Collaborate with Onboarding, Service Delivery, GIRC, Project Management, and other technical teams.

• Offer technical insights for client solutions, service design, RFPs, and proposals.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing service quality, operational efficiency, automation, reliability, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) is considered a plus.

• At least 3 years of practical experience in administering and supporting SolarWinds environments.

• Familiarity with the SolarWinds Platform and its associated modules.

• Experience in implementing and supporting SolarWinds within an enterprise, MSP, NOC, or similar setting.

• Background in onboarding and monitoring network infrastructure, servers, applications, and other IT infrastructure.

• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting SNMP, ICMP, WMI/WinRM, APIs, and network connectivity.

• Experience with SolarWinds automation, APIs, or scripting is preferred.

• Familiarity with integrating monitoring platforms with ITSM, PSA, RMM, or other operational systems is preferred.

• Strong grasp of SolarWinds Platform architecture, polling, monitoring, alerting, and reporting.

• Solid understanding of network and systems monitoring technologies.

• Knowledge of SNMP, ICMP, WMI/WinRM, TCP/IP, DNS, and common network protocols.

• Understanding of Windows and Linux server environments.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Strong comprehension of automation and scripting principles.

• Capability to design standardized monitoring solutions across various client environments.
