MSP Technology Operations Specialist – SolarWinds

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert for Jolera's SolarWinds Platform.

• Administer, configure, monitor, maintain, and enhance SolarWinds along with its associated modules.

• Take ownership of the technical SolarWinds components during client and infrastructure onboarding.

• Configure and onboard servers, network devices, applications, storage solutions, virtualization, and other supported infrastructure components.

• Set up and troubleshoot monitoring utilizing SNMP, ICMP, WMI/WinRM, APIs, and SolarWinds Platform Agents.

• Manage monitoring templates, thresholds, alerts, dependencies, dashboards, reports, user permissions, licensing, and polling engines.

• Oversee platform health, performance, and capacity, identifying areas for improvement.

• Conduct platform maintenance, upgrades, patches, and configuration modifications following Change Management protocols.

• Create automation solutions using SolarWinds APIs, PowerShell, scripting, and additional technologies.

• Develop and maintain integrations with PSA, ITSM, RMM, reporting, CMDB, and automation platforms.

• Provide advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical escalation support.

• Create documentation, standards, procedures, and best practices.

• Collaborate with Onboarding, Service Delivery, GIRC, Project Management, and technical teams.

• Offer technical insights into client solutions, service design, RFPs, and proposals.

• Strive for continuous improvement in service quality, efficiency, automation, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) is an advantage.

• At least 3 years of practical experience in administering and supporting SolarWinds environments.

• Familiarity with the SolarWinds Platform and its associated modules.

• Experience with the implementation and support of SolarWinds in an enterprise, MSP, NOC, or similar setting.

• Background in onboarding and monitoring network infrastructure, servers, applications, and other IT systems.

• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting SNMP, ICMP, WMI/WinRM, APIs, and network connectivity.

• Experience with SolarWinds automation, APIs, or scripting is preferred.

• Familiarity with integrating monitoring platforms with ITSM, PSA, RMM, or other operational systems is preferred.

• Strong comprehension of SolarWinds Platform architecture, polling, monitoring, alerting, and reporting.

• Solid understanding of network and systems monitoring technologies.

• Knowledge of SNMP, ICMP, WMI/WinRM, TCP/IP, DNS, and common network protocols.

• Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Strong grasp of automation and scripting concepts.

• Capability to design standardized monitoring solutions across various client environments.
