This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a small team of high-performing Loan Officers.
• Set up frameworks and support for managing a high volume of work.
• Track team and individual KPIs and SLAs, identify performance gaps, and develop coaching and action plans.
• Cultivate a culture that prioritizes every customer and deal opportunity.
• Maintain a deep understanding of conventional, FHA, VA, investor, and Homeward-specific lending guidelines.
• Act as an escalation point for complex situations.
• Provide coaching on sales dialogues, objection handling, follow-up strategies, agent communication, and pipeline prioritization.
• Develop Loan Officers who foster strong relationships with agents.
• Manage escalations from customers and agents.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to enhance file quality and execution.
• Work alongside Mortgage leadership and Homeward teams on mortgage products and offerings.
• Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions.
• Promote a competitive yet collaborative team atmosphere.
• Operate resourcefully in a lean, fast-paced environment.
• Over 5 years of experience in residential mortgage, including direct experience in originating purchase loans.
• More than 2 years of experience in leading, coaching, or managing Loan Officers in a high-volume sales setting.
• Extensive knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and NonQM guidelines.
• Ability to research, interpret, and apply agency and investor requirements to complex borrower situations.
• Demonstrated success in leading a team to achieve or surpass sales and conversion targets.
• Customer- and agent-focused mindset with high expectations for communication, urgency, and follow-through.
• Strong analytical abilities and the capability to utilize performance data to spot opportunities and drive actions.
• Excellent judgment in balancing sales urgency, customer advocacy, credit risk, and compliance obligations.
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills with Operations, Underwriting, Secondary, Compliance, Product, and senior leadership.
• Comfort in an environment where leaders facilitate solution creation.
• Strong sense of ownership, high standards, and a proactive approach.
• Genuine commitment to developing team members and enhancing performance.
