This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Generate mortgage loans within a designated Non-Bank territory.
• Process mortgage loan applications.
• Perform initial underwriting assessments.
• Forward loan applications to processing and underwriting for consent.
• Ensure that necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing are obtained promptly.
• Engage in loan sales activities.
• Participate in sales-related initiatives outside of U.S. Bank locations.
• Allocate at least 50% of work activities away from U.S. Bank offices.
• Adhere to U.S. Bank's policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, as well as workplace conduct and safety regulations.
• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) as per the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.
• Continuous compliance with all legal and regulatory registration obligations.
• Maintenance of a satisfactory criminal and credit history.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate.
• Self-motivated individual with exceptional sales skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Preferred established referral network within the assigned market.
• Comprehensive understanding of pricing and underwriting standards for various mortgage insurance providers.
• Knowledge of underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
• Awareness of local, state, and federal laws, including zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit regulations.
• Strong communication skills and capacity to analyze financial data.
• Sales-focused mentality.
• Proven track record of over 2 years in mortgage loan origination, consistently achieving or surpassing production targets.
