This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Generate residential first mortgage loans through external referrals.
• Achieve sales targets for mortgage loans and enhance cross-selling efforts.
• Build and nurture referral relationships with realtors, builders, and both professional and personal contacts.
• Stay informed about mortgage policies, loan products, processing procedures, underwriting guidelines, and departmental protocols.
• Adhere to established protocols for escalating exceptions.
• Complete applicant applications using the Fannie Mae Form 1003.
• Utilize a laptop for communication, daily rates, applicant credit reports, Loan Prospector responses, and transmitting loans to LOMAS.
• Gather applicant documentation and ensure loan packages are submitted within management-defined timelines.
• Oversee the pipeline of originated loans through to closing and fulfill necessary management reporting requirements.
• Provide timely updates and progress reports to branches and applicants.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while managing the expectations of applicants and support staff.
• Participate in mandatory Consumer Lending meetings.
• Hold overall accountability for residential mortgage loans from application to closing.
• Identify, evaluate, manage, monitor, and report risks in alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A four-year college degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
• Understanding of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations that govern real estate lending.
• Proven organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and customer service capabilities.
• Established computer proficiency.
• Basic sales technique knowledge.
• Strong ambition to succeed in a competitive landscape.
• Registration under the S.A.F.E. Act is required at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
• Capability to complete the Fannie Mae Form 1003 and utilize mortgage lending systems, credit reports, Loan Prospector, and LOMAS.
