Molds Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Responsible for overseeing the design, construction, development, and cost management of tooling relevant to the injection molding process.

• Engage with customers, the injection molding department, the internal mold shop, external suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Supervise, monitor, and coordinate tool design and construction, including program initiation, engineering modifications, repair tasks, and customer mold transfers.

• Collaborate with tool designers and other engineering and production team members to develop tool design concepts.

• Facilitate cross-functional Design Review(s) to ensure alignment with customer and production needs.

• Organize and establish precise timelines and progress updates for tool builds, sampling activities, or other engineering tasks.

• Track and oversee the engineering aspects of mold tooling projects in relation to quoted assumptions.

• Serve as a liaison among internal departments such as Quality, Molding, Process Engineering, Tool Room, Shipping, and Scheduling.

• Coordinate mold samples necessary for qualifying new tools and conducting first article inspections.

• Ensure compliance with mold qualification requirements and customer approval standards.

• Act as the primary point of communication between ADDMAN and the customer.

• Participate in customer meetings related to tooling programs.

• Manage both corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Provide engineering support to meet daily production and operational requirements.

• Proficient in using CAD to review tool designs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or a comparable field.

• 1-3 years of pertinent experience in injection mold design and construction.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software.

• Familiarity with SolidWorks is preferred.

• Knowledge of GD&T and the ability to analyze and interpret customer part prints.

• Capability to apply statistical methods for analyzing process capability.

• Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, along with application-specific software.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present before groups of customers or employees within the organization.
