This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Perform on-site assessments of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated area.
• Locate, start, move, inspect, and securely return vehicles located at dealer client lots.
• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options.
• Precisely input inspection data into relevant systems.
• Examine and record the exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical elements.
• Review and document the interior condition, encompassing seating, dashboard, and installed options.
• Conduct basic mechanical evaluations across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Identify and record any damage, missing parts, or inoperable features.
• Foster trust and establish strong relationships with dealer clients.
• Inform clients about the Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.
• Actively engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and participation.
• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.
• Adapt to changes in daily appointments and schedules.
• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.
• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.
• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.
• Contribute to process improvements in a continuous improvement and Lean environment.
• Meet production expectations set by leadership.
• Adhere to safety and health protocols and participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• For Level 1, conduct basic inspections and familiarize yourself with inspection standards and client expectations.
• For Level 2, independently carry out detailed inspections, manage schedules, cultivate dealer relationships, and support ongoing improvements.
• For Senior Level, execute advanced inspections, mentor peers, assist in onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.
• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1 positions.
• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.
• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.
• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.
• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.
• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.
• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is essential for Senior Level.
• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.
• At least 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.
• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required.
• Capability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within established timeframes.
• Ability to work independently with increasing autonomy, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must adhere to drug-free workplace policies.
• Monthly performance incentive based on inspection volume; approximately $750 per month at target production and $1,000+ per month for top performers.
• Guaranteed incentive during the initial three full months.
