Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated area.

• Locate, start, move, examine, and safely return vehicles at dealer client locations.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; input data with precision.

• Assess and document both the exterior and interior condition of vehicles.

• Conduct basic mechanical assessments of powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.

• Identify and record any damages, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Establish rapport with dealer clients and inform them about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection offerings.

• Actively engage with dealers to boost inspection quantity and involvement.

• Utilize data and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.

• Adjust to changes in appointments and schedules to ensure dealer coverage is maintained.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, coworkers, and other Manheim teams.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process enhancements.

• Meet production expectations while adhering to safety, health, and Manheim inspection standards.

• Engage in Safety Excellence initiatives and comply with the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior inspectors carry out advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, and assist with onboarding and development.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for Mobile Inspector – Level 1.

• For Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus over 3 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree or certification beyond a High School diploma/GED or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• For Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree or certification beyond a High School diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

• Ability to fulfill the physical and mental requirements of the role within the specified timeframes.

• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for the Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is required for the Senior Level.

• A pre-employment drug test is required; marijuana testing is not currently conducted.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship available now or in the future.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for Senior Level.
