Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated area.

• Safely locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer client properties.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately input data into systems.

• Assess and record the condition of vehicle exteriors and interiors, tires, frames, glass, panels, mechanical components, seating, dashboards, and installed options.

• Conduct basic mechanical evaluations of powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and document any damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust with dealer clients and inform them about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Actively engage dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure ongoing participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity within the territory.

• Adjust to modifications in daily appointments and schedules to ensure effective dealer coverage.

• Compile and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process advancements.

• Adhere to production expectations while following safety, health, inspection, and compliance regulations.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• For senior-level positions: conduct advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• For Level 2: High School Diploma or GED along with 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification above a High School diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a similar field.

• For Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification above a High School diploma/GED with 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a similar field.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.

• Extensive automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) is essential for Senior Level.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• One year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for Senior Level.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• Capability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position within required timeframes.

• A pre-employment drug test is required; however, no marijuana test is currently administered.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.
