Mobile Phlebotomist – Per Diem

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Ensure the accurate collection, labeling, handling, and transportation of blood and other specimens for laboratory testing.

• Properly identify patients using at least two distinct identifiers prior to specimen collection.

• Confirm that test requisitions are accurately filled out.

• Acquire whole blood, serum, and plasma samples through venipuncture and/or fingerstick methods.

• Affix labels on samples, tubes, primary tubes, and pour-off tubes with two unique identifiers.

• Maintain proper documentation and identification of samples for transport to the laboratory.

• Adhere to safety protocols of the client facility, which includes the use of PPE, isolation measures, and hand hygiene.

• Keep daily records of collections completed.

• Notify the Phlebotomy Supervisor of any significant fluctuations in collection volumes.

• Order office and phlebotomy supplies as required.

• Uphold the professional image of Kashi Clinical Laboratories.

• Provide coverage for unexpected call-offs and pre-scheduled absences as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent qualification.

• Phlebotomy Certificate (proof of certification needed upon hiring).

• Proficiency with computers and technology.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

• Reliable transportation is mandatory.

• Capability to perform venipuncture and/or fingerstick procedures.

• Ability to collect blood cultures without contamination.

• Familiarity with timed, fasting, and random collection protocols.

• Skills to explain proper collection methods for urine, stool, sputum, or culture swabs.

• Compliance with CLIA guidelines, Universal Precautions, OSHA Standards, and HIPAA Regulations.

• Capacity to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds.

• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, holidays, and/or extended hours.
