Mobile Phlebotomist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Provide Mobile Phlebotomy services in the Eugene area

• Accurately collect, label, store, and transport blood, urine, stool, and other specimens to the laboratory

• Utilize at least two distinct identifiers to verify patient identity in alignment with CLIA guidelines

• Ensure that test requisitions are filled out correctly

• Collect whole blood, serum, and plasma samples through venipuncture and/or fingerstick methods

• Affix labels on primary, pour-off, and daughter tubes with two distinct identifiers

• Maintain accurate documentation and identification of samples during transit

• Execute blood culture collections while preventing contamination of the site or sample

• Conduct timed, fasting, and random collections as required

• Provide clear instructions on proper collection procedures for urine, stool, sputum, and culture swabs

• Comply with client-facility safety protocols, which include PPE, isolation procedures, and hand hygiene

• Adhere to Universal Precautions and OSHA Standards when handling biological specimens

• Follow HIPAA Regulations diligently

• Keep daily records of collections

• Notify the Phlebotomy Supervisor regarding significant changes in collection volumes

• Request necessary office and phlebotomy supplies as required

• Represent and enhance the professional image of Kashi Clinical Laboratories

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification

• Phlebotomy Certification (proof of certification is mandatory upon hiring)

• Proficient in computer and technology usage

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record

• Reliable transportation is essential

• Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 20 pounds

• Ability to frequently speak and hear

• Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods and perform bending, stretching, and stooping

• Proficient in close vision and computer vision tasks

• Manual dexterity required for operating standard office, phlebotomy, and clinical equipment

• Availability for a variable schedule that includes evenings, holidays, and/or extended hours

• Ability to work with exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions
