This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Oversee multiple facilities within West Virginia
• Operate from the CommuniCare facility nearest to the employee's residence
• Travel as required, including overnight stays, to assist Business Office functions during vacancies of the Business Office Manager or during periods of high workload
• Oversee business office policies and procedures
• Directly supervise the Assistant Business Office Manager
• Liaise with the Executive Director, Regional Team, and Business Office Staff
• Engage with families, attorneys, and external organizations
• Complete the weekly BOM Admission Checklist and present it during the morning stand-up
• Conduct daily verification and reconciliation of midnight census testing
• Execute admission procedures in the absence of the Admissions Coordinator
• Lead weekly Medicaid pending/collection blitz meetings
• Perform root cause analysis on problematic debt accounts and advise the Executive Director on identified issues and recommended solutions
• Complete insurance documentation as needed
• Attend Utilization Review and/or PPS meetings as required
• Supervise, organize, assess, and monitor business office support staff
• Meet with residents and responsible parties during admission and discharge to discuss financial obligations
• Ensure timely and accurate billing and collections
• Engage in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs
• Uphold compliance with departmental, center, and home office policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in the business office of a Long Term Care facility
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, or a related discipline
• Previous supervisory experience and management training
• Comprehensive understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, Managed Care costing and analysis, personnel management, accounts receivable/collections, resident funds, accounts payable, general ledger, and management information systems
• Capability to make independent decisions when necessary
• Ability to interact tactfully with team members, staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
• Openness to exploring new methods and principles
• Proficient in computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
• Must be willing to travel throughout the designated region
