ML/AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and continuously enhance shared AI capabilities, reusable services, and engineering accelerators for various construction software products.

• Design and implement production-quality AI systems, which include LLM-based experiences, retrieval pipelines, orchestration layers, and agentic workflows.

• Generate technical documentation such as specifications, evaluations, interface definitions, and workflow contracts.

• Establish and apply evaluation-driven development cycles focusing on quality, reliability, latency, cost, grounding, and other performance metrics.

• Collaborate with product teams to pinpoint cross-product opportunities and facilitate the integration of shared capabilities.

• Contribute to AI-native engineering methodologies, Spec-Driven Development, AI-assisted workflows, automated testing, and intelligent engineering agents.

• Implement standards and safeguards for AI reliability, observability, governance, security, and responsible production practices.

• Prototype and assess technical strategies, transforming emerging AI capabilities into scalable components.

• Support and mentor engineers through technical cooperation, peer reviews, and knowledge exchange.

• Work alongside AI PM/PO, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of implementation decisions with customer value and measurable results.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of practical software engineering experience, with substantial involvement in production-grade AI or data-intensive systems.

• Strong proficiency in Python programming.

• Familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud services.

• Direct experience with Generative AI technologies and their applications.

• Solid practical knowledge of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agents, trade-offs, limitations, and failure modes.

• Preference for availability to work from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM CET.

• Experience in designing and managing end-to-end AI systems encompassing APIs, application services, data pipelines, retrieval layers, evaluation workflows, and cloud infrastructure.

• Capability to define measurable quality criteria and evaluation methods for AI systems.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering, Spec-Driven Development, and contemporary developer tools.

• Strong architectural insight for reusable patterns and shared capabilities.

• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration from exploration and prototyping to production deployment and ongoing improvement in agile settings.

• Ability to support and influence fellow engineers and elevate technical standards.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• An adaptive mindset, high learning agility, and willingness to embrace continuous change.

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered for exceptional candidates.
