Mission Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Install Shift5 hardware, sensors, networking equipment, and cabling on military and commercial platforms within industrial, maritime, rail, or defense sectors.

• Configure, install, and update software applications, as well as Windows/Linux operating systems and system images across customer hardware.

• Execute installation protocols, startup checklists, and operational verification tests.

• Travel and deploy to the field in collaboration with customers and Mission Deployment Engineers.

• Lead on-site integration, upgrades, and preventative maintenance tasks.

• Diagnose basic hardware, software, network, and installation issues, escalating more complex problems to Mission Deployment Engineers.

• Document installation processes, equipment configurations, and testing results.

• Prepare and manage deployment kits, tools, and equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in supporting technical equipment, field installations, electronics, networking, IT systems, or similar hands-on technologies (1–4 years).

• Proficiency with standard hand tools, basic electronic testing equipment, Windows operating systems, and fundamental Ethernet/IP-based communications.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and capability to interpret basic technical procedures.

• Hands-on experience in technical troubleshooting, hardware assembly, software installation, and system testing within field environments.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in industrial, maritime, rail, or military contexts.

• Associate degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Highly self-driven with proactive problem-solving abilities.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and occasionally internationally.

• Active U.S. security clearance, or the ability and willingness to obtain one.

• Preferred: Familiarity with military land-based transport vehicles and communication systems.

• Preferred: Military technical experience in electronics, communications, aviation, maritime, maintenance, IT, or related defense domains.

• Preferred: Experience supporting DoD, aerospace, maritime, rail, or industrial clients.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Linux operating systems, multimeters, logic analyzers, wiring diagrams, and installation schematics.

• Preferred: Experience installing ruggedized computers, sensors, or networking equipment on operational platforms.
