Mission Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute satellite operation protocols for concurrent missions and an expanding mission manifest.

• Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines to implement satellite operation strategies and ensure the continuity of satellite services.

• Analyze telemetry data and satellite health reports to evaluate system performance and identify potential issues.

• Execute preventive measures and corrective actions as necessary.

• Troubleshoot and resolve anomalies and system malfunctions to restore satellite functionality.

• Plan and coordinate satellite maneuvers, including orbit corrections and station-keeping activities.

• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate new satellites into the existing fleet.

• Assist in the transition of satellites from the launch phase to operational status.

• Design and implement automation solutions for monitoring and ensuring satellite health and safety in orbit.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 4 years of project or industry experience in operating or automating complex systems.

• Proficiency in Python, Julia, or another high-level scripting language.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make critical decisions under pressure.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and communicate efficiently.

• Experience in automating complex systems.

• Operations experience with spacecraft, ground stations, or other sophisticated communication systems.

• In-depth understanding of satellite subsystems, including power, propulsion, communication, and payload.

• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in satellite operations, including ITU and FCC regulations.

• Must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility criteria: be a U.S. person, eligible without export authorization, or eligible and likely to obtain necessary export authorization.
