Middle School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting.

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance to students.

• Oversee the learning process while addressing students' unique needs.

• Track student progress via Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Collaborate closely with students and their parents/learning coaches to further educational objectives.

• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.

• Customize learning experiences for all students.

• Differentiate teaching methods based on student proficiency.

• Enhance course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools.

• Maintain accurate grade records and uphold academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and advancement.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Build and sustain positive relationships with families.

• Communicate promptly with students and their learning coaches/parents.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting.

• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month or about 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Florida 5 Year Professional 5-9 OR 6-12 Science Teaching Certificate.

• Residency in Florida.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Valid state teaching license.

• Capability to pass the required background check.

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.

• Experience with the specified age group (preferred).

• Experience aiding adults and children in utilizing technology (preferred).

• Experience teaching in both online and traditional classroom settings (preferred).

• Familiarity with online learning platforms (preferred).

• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data (preferred).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred).

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms (preferred).

• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum (preferred).
