Middle School Science Teacher

📋 Description

• Deliver specific course materials in an online setting

• Offer enriching and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Tailor learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of all students

• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels

• Enhance course content using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of the principal and coach

• Maintain the grade book while ensuring academic integrity for students

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments

• Build and sustain positive relationships with families

• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting

• Monitor student progress via Stride K12’s learning management system

• Travel as required, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid state Department of Education Middle School (5-8) Science Teaching Certification is required

• Position is virtual and open to applicants residing in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

• Bachelor's degree is necessary

• Active state teaching license required

• Capability to pass the necessary background check

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during working hours

• Willingness to travel occasionally for school events, testing, professional development, and other mandatory activities

• Experience with the targeted age group is essential

• Background in supporting both adults and children in utilizing technology

• Experience teaching online and/or in a traditional classroom setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is required

• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data

• Proficient in using student data to inform instructional decisions

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
