Middle School History Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver engaging and comprehensive synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.

• Tailor learning approaches to meet the individual needs of all students.

• Differentiate instruction based on each student's level of mastery.

• Enhance course materials using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools, following the guidance of the principal and coach.

• Manage the grade book while upholding student academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for important standardized tests.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with families.

• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents, addressing their inquiries.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional challenges and basic troubleshooting in a virtual setting.

• Oversee student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for in-person professional development, student testing, and other school-related duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid state Department of Education Middle School (5-8) History Teaching Certification is mandatory.

• This position is remote and available to residents across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

• Ability to work autonomously, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours, typically from 9-5 (or 8-4) or as specified by the school.

• Bachelor's degree is required.

• Active state teaching license is essential.

• Ability to pass a required background check.

• Experience working with the specified age group is necessary.

• Experience in providing support to both adults and children in technology usage.

• Background in teaching in an online (virtual) environment and/or in a traditional classroom setting.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is required.

• Proficiency in interpreting and producing numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data to inform instructional decisions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
