Middle School English Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized course content in an online setting

• Provide instruction, assistance, and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Customize learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency

• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Enhance course materials using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools

• Track student progress through Stride K12's learning management system

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make determinations regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns related to student performance and progress

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Build and sustain positive relationships with families

• Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a prompt manner

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting

• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month or about 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and other school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Florida 5 Year Professional 5-9 OR 6-12 English Certificate

• Reading Endorsement

• ESOL Endorsement

• Residency in Florida

• Bachelor's degree

• Active state teaching license

• Ability to pass required background checks

• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours, typically 9-5 or 8-4

• Experience with the designated age group is preferred

• Experience in supporting both adults and children in technology usage is preferred

• Experience in teaching within an online and/or traditional classroom environment is preferred

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred

• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred

• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms is preferred

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and remain fluent in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum is preferred
