Middle School English Remediation Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted course content in an online setting.

• Create engaging and immersive synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels.

• Enhance course materials utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools with guidance from principals and coaches.

• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for critical standardized tests.

• Develop and sustain positive relationships with families.

• Communicate promptly with students, learning coaches, and parents.

• Assist learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.

• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and school requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid North Carolina Middle School English Teaching Certification is mandatory.

• Must be a resident of North Carolina.

• Bachelor's degree is required.

• Active state teaching license is necessary.

• Ability to pass the required background check.

• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours.

• Availability to work during school hours, generally from 9–5 or 8–4, as specified by the school.

• Experience with the designated age group is preferred.

• Experience in assisting both adults and children with technology is preferred.

• Teaching experience in either an online or brick-and-mortar setting is desirable.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred.

• Competence in interpreting and generating numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data to inform instructional decisions.

• Openness to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.

• Flexibility to adapt to changes to ensure outstanding student outcomes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.

• Ability to quickly learn and adjust to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
