Middle School Business Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted course material in a virtual setting

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey

• Tailor learning experiences to meet the unique needs of each student

• Track student progress using K12's learning management system

• Collaborate with students and parents to enhance learning and create post-secondary success plans

• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels

• Enhance course content with approved synchronous and asynchronous tools

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and parents

• Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Implement State, National, and Industry Specific learning standards

• Create instructional tools and strategies to enhance the curriculum

• Collaborate with the school and national professional learning community

• Administer and supervise certification assessments where applicable

• Act as an Advisor for a Career & Technical Student Organization

• Foster business and industry partnerships for work-based learning experiences

• Promote a project-based learning approach

• Travel up to 20% for in-person professional development, student testing, and school obligations

⛳️ Requirements

• North Carolina CRE Business Teaching Certification is required

• Out-of-state applicants must possess a North Carolina teaching certification

• Applicants must reside in North Carolina or a bordering state within a 30-mile radius

• Bachelor's degree is necessary

• Active state teaching license required

• Ability to pass a required background check

• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours a week

• Capability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours

• Skill in interpreting and producing numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum

• Willingness to collaborate with fellow educators

• Preferred experience with the targeted age group

• Preferred experience in assisting adults and children with technology usage

• Preferred experience teaching in an online or traditional classroom setting

• Preferred experience with online learning platforms
