Middle Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Lead the migration and deployment of backend systems into a highly available, multi-region AWS environment.

• Design and enhance scalable event-driven architectural solutions utilizing Kafka.

• Develop and uphold dependable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Maintain code quality, scalability, and sustainability through Clean Architecture and engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with Web, Mobile, and Product teams to deliver effective technical solutions.

• Participate in architectural decisions, code reviews, technical planning, and production deployments.

• Identify technical risks and drive enhancements in system performance, resilience, and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of backend development experience.

• Expert-level proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Strong experience in building and operating cloud-native, high-availability, multi-region solutions on AWS.

• Familiarity with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.

• In-depth knowledge of event-driven architecture and Apache Kafka.

• Solid understanding of relational databases, including MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with Clean Architecture, design patterns, and maintainable coding practices.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with Web, Mobile, Product Owners, and technical stakeholders.

• Native Spanish speaker.

• Intermediate proficiency in English.

• Experience in high-scale, high-transaction, or fintech environments, legacy system modernization, and cloud-native AWS migrations.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.

• Understanding of distributed system observability, monitoring, logging, incident management, code reviews, and technical documentation.

• Experience in mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, or contributing to engineering standards.
