Mid PHP Developer – Laravel, Symfony

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend systems utilizing PHP 8.x along with Laravel or Symfony.

• Architect secure, robust, and high-performance solutions that adhere to fintech standards.

• Construct and manage REST APIs with appropriate versioning and backward compatibility.

• Enhance MySQL/MariaDB database performance through query tuning, schema design, and migrations.

• Implement and oversee CI/CD pipelines and Docker-based containerized environments.

• Ensure code quality through unit, integration, and feature testing, as well as code reviews.

• Utilize SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture in development.

• Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply optimizations.

• Uphold OWASP standards, secure authentication practices, data protection, and GDPR compliance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and technical guidance.

• Contribute to technical decisions, constructively challenge requirements, and advocate best practices.

• Support the development of the company’s fintech product.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in software development.

• Expert-level proficiency in PHP 8.x and contemporary development practices.

• At least 4+ years of experience with Laravel or Symfony, including a deep understanding of the frameworks.

• Extensive experience with MySQL or MariaDB, focusing on query optimization, schema design, and normalization.

• Strong comprehension of REST API design principles.

• Proficient with Git, including branching strategies, code reviews, and release workflows.

• Familiarity with PHPUnit and formulating test strategies.

• Practical experience with Docker and containerized production environments.

• Strong knowledge of caching strategies and performance enhancement.

• Experience in establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; GitHub is preferred.

• Solid understanding of Composer and dependency management.

• Comfortable navigating Linux/CLI environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of security best practices in web applications.

• Ability to independently design and architect solutions.

• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on maintainability and scalability.

• Confidence to challenge requirements and suggest superior alternatives.

• Capacity to translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Experience in leading initiatives or small teams.

• Strong written communication abilities in asynchronous settings.

• Background in the fintech or financial services domain.

• Frontend development skills utilizing Vue.js or React.

• Experience with cloud platforms; Azure is preferred.

• Previous involvement in technical interviewing or hiring processes.
