Mid-Level UX/UI Designer – Maternity Leave Cover

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Convert user requirements and validated product concepts into wireframes, flows, and refined UI components.

• Take ownership of the design workflow from initial concept to handoff to engineering, ensuring clarity, consistency, and user-friendliness.

• Develop user experiences that are adaptable across mobile and desktop platforms, catering to both new users and power users, as well as multiple languages.

• Engage with and enhance a dynamic component-based design system.

• Conduct or assist with user research and usability testing; distill insights into actionable enhancements.

• Create and uphold a well-structured Figma workspace and design architecture.

• Develop a scalable design library and visual style guide that aligns with brand standards.

• Collaborate with designers and engineers to streamline workflows and document design decisions.

• Work alongside Product Managers to comprehend issues and define problem statements and potential solutions.

• Partner directly with engineers to ensure precise execution of designs.

• Engage in design iterations, rapid prototyping, user testing, QA handoffs, and cross-functional reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing digital products or SaaS applications.

• Strong interaction design capabilities and a thorough understanding of usability best practices.

• Proficiency in Figma and component-driven design systems.

• A portfolio that showcases the ability to convert product intent into functional, user-centered designs.

• Ability to manage personal workload and maintain productivity in a remote, asynchronous team environment.

• Comfort with testing and utilizing AI solutions to expedite the design process.

• Must have an appropriate home working setup in place.

• Must hold the right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available).

• Must be available to start immediately or with a notice period of one month or less.

• Experience in EdTech, educational platforms, or creator tools.

• Familiarity with the implementation and documentation of design libraries.

• Experience collaborating closely with PMs and engineers in delivery-oriented settings.

• Understanding of user-centered design, user testing, rapid prototyping, and QA workflows.
