Mid-level Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Become an integral part of a 5-member engineering team.

• Take ownership of full-stack features utilized by hundreds of thousands of learners and tutors around the globe.

• Collaborate directly with designers and other key stakeholders to develop experiments and enhance operational efficiency.

• Analyze user challenges and contribute innovative product ideas.

• Transition work from prototypes and experiments to full deployment.

• Define project scope and make informed technical decisions with guidance from seasoned colleagues.

• Write code that is simple, clear, and maintainable.

• Engage in code reviews and collaborative coding sessions.

• Create solutions that address user experience, operational needs, technology integration, learner and tutor requirements, interaction quality, and safety concerns.

• Design AI tutoring simulations and coaching tools.

• Explore innovative methods to connect tutors with learners in need of homework assistance.

• Develop moderation systems to identify and respond to safety issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.

• Proven history of building and deploying full-stack features.

• Capacity to articulate product and technical trade-offs effectively.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, and Postgres, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.

• A user-centric approach to product development.

• Ability to work efficiently while ensuring code quality.

• Capability to work autonomously and seek assistance when necessary.

• Must be available to work within US time zones.

• Bonus: Extensive experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, Postgres, AWS, and GCP.

• Bonus: Experience in mobile app development.

• Bonus: Background in education or ed-tech.
