Mid-Level Java Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and execute robust and scalable software solutions utilizing Java

• Design, optimize, and maintain RESTful APIs

• Architect and implement solutions based on microservices

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and convert them into technical specifications

• Address intricate performance and security challenges

• Perform code reviews, identify enhancements, and uphold coding standards

• Partner with software architects to establish standards and best practices

• Provide support and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers

• Identify opportunities to integrate AI into products, processes, and internal workflows

• Ensure adherence to best practices in security, observability, performance, and scalability

• Advocate for software development and engineering standards

• Contribute to the enhancement of engineering maturity, automation, and the ethical use of AI across the organization

• Assist in developing technological solutions that align with strategic goals and deliver value to customers and the business

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience with Java (Java 8+; specifically Java 11 or higher)

• Proficient in the Spring Framework ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud)

• Experience in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs

• In-depth understanding of microservices architecture

• Familiarity with integration patterns and asynchronous communication

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, or similar)

• Understanding of data modeling and query optimization

• Proficient with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies

• Knowledge of integrations between enterprise systems and external APIs

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting in production settings

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing

• Knowledge of Clean Code principles, SOLID, Design Patterns, and Clean Architecture

• Experience with code reviews and software engineering methodologies

• Practical experience utilizing AI tools to enhance the software development lifecycle

• Ability to leverage AI for requirements analysis and refinement, solution modeling, code generation and review, test creation and automation, technical documentation, and analysis of technical impacts and risks

• Knowledge of integration with generative AI APIs and services

• Understanding of Prompt Engineering, RAG, AI agents, and intelligent automation is advantageous

• Ability to critically assess AI-generated outputs, ensuring quality, security, and alignment with business objectives

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

• Capability to lead discussions with business, product, and technology teams

• Strong negotiation and expectation management skills

• Ability to comprehend strategic goals and translate them into technology solutions
