Mid-Level Data Governance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Assist in the execution and upkeep of the data governance framework.

• Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and guidelines.

• Oversee data quality initiatives, encompassing rule definition, monitoring, metrics, and remediation strategies.

• Aid in the cataloging, classification, and documentation of data assets.

• Administer and sustain the data catalog and data lineage for essential assets.

• Collaborate on the organization of data domains and the Data Mesh model.

• Interact with business teams to comprehend their requirements, map domains, and convert needs into governance actions.

• Engage and assist in empowering data owners and stewards, fostering data best practices and accountability.

• Work closely with data engineering teams to enforce policies across various platforms.

• Support the structuring, implementation, and advancement of the company’s data governance program, including data quality, cataloging, policies, and initiatives related to data culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with cloud data platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with Dataplex and/or Databricks (Unity Catalog) for governance, cataloging, and access control.

• In-depth knowledge of data quality, including dimensions, rules, monitoring, and metrics.

• Experience with data catalogs and data lineage, covering documentation, traceability, and metadata management.

• Understanding of data governance policies and standards, including privacy, LGPD, access management, and data lifecycle management.

• Comprehension of the Data Mesh concept and data/business domains.

• Capability to engage with business teams and translate their needs into governance requirements.

• Experience in engaging and enabling data owners and stewards.

• Certifications in GCP, Databricks, or data governance (e.g., DAMA/CDMP) — a plus.

• Familiarity with frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK — a plus.

• Experience with Data Contracts and Data Products — a plus.

• Exposure to multicloud environments — a plus.
