Mid-Level Backend Developer, Node.js/Nest.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, sustain, and improve backend applications primarily utilizing Node.js and Nest.js

• Create and manage APIs and establish integrations between internal and external systems

• Engage with microservices-based applications and distributed architectures

• Execute integrations through messaging and asynchronous processing techniques

• Enhance application performance, scalability, and resilience

• Assist in the deployment of logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting systems

• Aid in the analysis and resolution of incidents and issues within development and production settings

• Take part in the modernization and evolution of applications in cloud-based environments

• Apply best practices for software development, security, and code quality

• Develop and uphold unit and integration tests

• Engage in code reviews and technical discussions with the team

• Facilitate the updating of libraries, frameworks, and dependencies

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and the automation of development processes

• Utilize Generative AI tools, such as Claude, to assist in development, analysis, documentation, and boosting productivity

• Collaborate closely with developers, QA, technical leadership, and other stakeholders involved in project deliveries

• Proficient in Node.js

• Familiar with Nest.js

• Experience in developing REST APIs

• Understanding of backend development and system integration

• Knowledge of software development best practices and code organization

• Familiarity with microservices architecture

• Comprehension of distributed systems

• Awareness of scalability and resilience principles

• Experience with or understanding of messaging, events, or asynchronous processing

• Practical knowledge of AWS

• Familiarity with applications in cloud environments

• Understanding of scalability, availability, and cloud-native services

• Experience with SQL

• Knowledge of relational databases

• Understanding of data modeling

• Comprehension of query optimization and performance

• Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems

• Knowledge of unit and integration testing

• Adept at analyzing and resolving bugs

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices

• Nice to have: knowledge of or experience with Open Finance and Open Banking

• Nice to have: background in financial services, payment systems, or regulated environments

• Nice to have: experience in high-availability or high-transaction-volume environments

• Nice to have: knowledge of Go, Kotlin, or Python

• Nice to have: familiarity with NoSQL databases
