Microsoft Dynamics 365 Technical Consultant, Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain technical solutions within Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.

• Convert functional and business requirements into extensions, integrations, data migration resources, reports, workflow automation, and AI-driven features.

• Take ownership of a specific technical work package from clarification and design through to development, testing, defect resolution, deployment support, and knowledge transfer.

• Design and create X++ extensions, Chain of Command implementations, event handlers, batch processes, data entities, forms, reports, workflows, and custom components.

• Build and maintain integrations utilizing OData, Data Management Framework, Business Events, custom services/APIs, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, and API Management.

• Develop and validate data migration packages, mappings, transformation logic, reconciliation controls, and error-handling procedures.

• Create or support SSRS, Electronic Reporting, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric-connected reporting solutions.

• Develop Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Dataverse components, and Copilot Studio solutions.

• Implement AI-driven features and agentic workflows within authorized architecture.

• Utilize Azure DevOps or GitHub for source control, branching, pull requests, build and release pipelines, and deployment controls.

• Assist with environment and release activities, cutover, production readiness, hypercare, incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and transition to support teams.

• Define and manage technical project tasks, distribute work within a small work package, and provide status updates and risk assessments.

• Collaborate with functional consultants to develop technical designs that align with client needs and project architecture.

• Prepare specifications, process flows, design documents, test plans, deployment notes, support guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Provide client-facing demonstrations, design walkthroughs, training sessions, and knowledge transfer.

• Conduct code walkthroughs, share reusable patterns, and mentor junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• This role offers flexible living arrangements across the US or Canada.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• Typically requires 7–9 years of experience in enterprise application development or technical consulting.

• Significant hands-on experience with Dynamics AX 2012 and/or Dynamics 365 F&SCM.

• Experience contributing to at least two complete ERP implementations, upgrades, rollouts, or substantial enhancement programs.

• Proven ownership of technical deliverables.

• Hands-on experience with X++ development.

• Familiarity with Dynamics 365 extensibility, data entities, security, reporting, integrations, deployment, and troubleshooting.

• Experience creating technical specifications, code, test evidence, deployment documentation, and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Ability to work independently, lead a small technical work package, and mentor junior resources.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Capability to collaborate with teams across the US and globally across different time zones.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure integration services, Microsoft Fabric or Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, or Copilot Studio.

• Preferred: Exposure to ERP processes in finance, procurement, inventory, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, asset management, or project operations.

• Preferred: Experience with AX-to-Dynamics 365 modernization, One Version servicing, legacy customization remediation, or global/multi-entity deployments.

• Preferred: Skills in automated testing, performance troubleshooting, application monitoring, secure integration patterns, or release automation.
