Mental Health Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough evaluations of behavioral, emotional, and mental health requirements

• Create personalized treatment plans that align with the objectives of clients

• Offer evidence-based individual and family therapy utilizing approaches such as CBT and DBT

• Provide care through virtual platforms

• Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary

• Ensure precise and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment results

• Collaborate with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals

• Communicate treatment strategies, progress, and recommendations with clients, their families, and relevant stakeholders

• Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute distress

• Formulate safety plans and strategies to avert or lessen crises

• Educate clients and families regarding mental health issues, treatment alternatives, and coping mechanisms

• Maintain a steady patient volume that aligns with contracted hours and the needs of the organization

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline

• Active independent clinical licensure in at least one of Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia

• At least 3 years of clinical experience delivering therapy to youth, adults, and individuals facing behavioral health challenges

• Experience treating patients aged 13 and older

• Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and interventions

• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational abilities

• Experience in providing telehealth services

• Willingness to pursue licensure in additional states is preferred

• Experience with specialized populations or treatment areas, such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, or grief and loss is preferred

• Familiarity with Athena One EHR and electronic health record documentation standards is preferred
