Mental Health Patient Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Manage all scheduling of appointments with providers for patients, referring physicians, and facilities across various states.

• Relay essential information to patients and staff members, including insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and appointment dates and times.

• Deliver warm, friendly, and exceptional customer service through all interactions.

• Accurately schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments utilizing practice scheduling protocols and tools.

• Provide information about services to physicians and other callers.

• Respond swiftly to requests from patients, providers, and team members.

• Maintain and update patient information while possessing a solid understanding of insurance protocols.

• Assess insurance benefits using eligibility systems, online resources, or phone communications.

• Clarify benefits and financial responsibilities to patients and guarantors.

• Address billing inquiries, collect out-of-pocket payments, and accurately process payments.

• Communicate insurance-related issues and collaborate with billing teams to resolve coverage discrepancies.

• Sustain insurance panels.

• Secure approval for scheduling changes or cancellations as necessary.

• Achieve goals and objectives set by management.

• Escalate issues to management as needed.

• Perform additional duties as dictated by patient needs.

• Comply with quality and productivity standards.

• Experience with insurance eligibility processes.

• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

• High attention to detail is essential.

• Strong organizational abilities.

• Capability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

• Ability to collaborate well in a team-oriented environment.

• Availability from Tuesdays to Saturdays: 9:00am - 5:00pm EST.
