Mental Health Customer Service Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Serve as the representative of the organization for clinics, physicians, medical personnel, and patients.

• Address intricate inbound and outbound customer inquiries with compassion.

• Assess test request forms and accompanying documents submitted with patient samples.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to finalize necessary documentation and sample submissions.

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefit levels.

• Clarify insurance coverage, testing details, processes, and turnaround times to patients.

• Allocate approximately 60–80% of work hours to phone interactions.

• Independently oversee assigned tasks while achieving production and quality objectives.

• Coordinate with technology, revenue cycle, field sales, and laboratory teams regarding orders and billing procedures.

• Recognize issues and trends, working alongside team members and leadership to establish best practices.

• Engage in the Quality Assurance program.

• Adhere to relevant CLIA and HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent is required, with a minimum of 1 year of pertinent experience, or an associate or bachelor’s degree.

• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred and encouraged.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Preference will be given to applicants with a higher net typing speed.

• Strong listening, transcribing, and self-review capabilities.

• Experience with PCs, including knowledge of Excel, Word, the Internet, and email.

• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, often in high-pressure situations.

• Strong organizational and task management skills, along with professional judgment.

• Enjoys problem-solving and recognizing patterns.

• A dedicated individual who thrives in a team environment and supports colleagues.

• Able to perform sedentary work and occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force.

• Capable of fulfilling required stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching.

• Proficient in using equipment and tools essential for performing key job functions.
