Mega Projects Estimator – Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Analyze and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications to ascertain project requirements.

β€’ Generate precise and detailed material quantity takeoffs for essential infrastructure facilities and systems.

β€’ Determine suitable materials and specialty components needed to fulfill project design criteria.

β€’ Assess materials during both early- and late-stage design-build projects.

β€’ Work alongside contractors to explore alternative materials that uphold design intent while enhancing cost-effectiveness and delivery timelines.

β€’ Partner with sales to formulate competitive bidding strategies.

β€’ Support in defining scope and ensure the prompt and accurate delivery of customer quotations.

β€’ Organize scope meetings with contractors.

β€’ Facilitate pre- and post-takeoff calls to ensure comprehensive and accurate knowledge transfer.

β€’ Liaise with vendors regarding product applications, specialty components, and material needs.

β€’ Collaborate with the internal Pre-Bid team to establish clear and precise scopes of work.

β€’ Maintain communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

β€’ Suggest value-engineering options for bidding projects.

β€’ Interact with design engineers and contractors concerning unusual, complex, or specialized project elements via RFIs, email, or calls.

β€’ Coordinate and review the work of associate estimators as a senior technical resource.

β€’ Provide training, mentoring, and ongoing education support to estimating staff.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of 5 years of estimation experience in water/wastewater treatment plant construction or critical infrastructure projects.

β€’ Demonstrated experience in conducting detailed material quantity takeoffs from construction plan sets.

β€’ Strong comprehension of civil and mechanical infrastructure systems.

β€’ Experience interacting directly with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.

β€’ Previous involvement in design-build, value engineering, or intricate bid strategies is highly preferred.

β€’ Experience in mentoring or reviewing the work of associate estimators is advantageous.

β€’ A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

β€’ Typically requires a BS/BA in a relevant discipline.

β€’ Generally, 5–8 years of experience in a related field.

β€’ Certification may be necessary in specific areas.

β€’ Exceptional attention to detail and precision.

β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

β€’ Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

β€’ Ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, and operations teams.

β€’ Strong organizational and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced environment.
