This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the medication intake process and serve as a liaison among clinic providers, staff, pharmacies, and patients.
• Perform benefits investigations to assess patient coverage, out-of-pocket expenses, and available financial assistance options.
• Identify and suggest patient assistance programs, copay cards, grants, or funds.
• Collect and evaluate documentation for prior authorization requests.
• Manage appeals for coverage denials and coordinate subsequent steps with clinic personnel.
• Communicate with clinics to gather information and direction for prior authorization submissions.
• Engage in patient outreach regarding medication coverage and financial assistance alternatives.
• Offer pharmacy recommendations.
• Relay coverage determinations and facilitate patient follow-ups on behalf of client clinics.
• Maintain accurate documentation in client EMR systems and Visante tracking tools.
• Support the onboarding and training of client-employed medication access specialists.
• Contribute to process enhancements and provide operational feedback to Visante team members and leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of three years of pharmacy experience in healthcare or with pharmacy providers focusing on medication access.
• Two years of experience in the healthcare revenue cycle, including medication authorizations and preadmission/precertification processes (preferred).
• Proficiency in retail pharmacy PBM adjudication to ensure accurate claims processing and reimbursement.
• Skilled in using CoverMyMeds® for prior authorization submissions.
• State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration to be obtained within 2 months of the start date, if required by state regulations.
• Active CPhT certification from either PTCB or NHA (preferred).
• Strong decision-making and judgment skills.
• Ability to handle competing demands, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with urgency.
• Excellent client relationship, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
• Professional and clear verbal and written communication abilities.
• Expertise in medication reimbursement, prior authorization, and healthcare coding.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Capability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy.
• Proficient in Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
