This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish, oversee, and nurture relationships with payer stakeholders, including health plans, PBMs, and Medicaid organizations.
• Deliver and potentially create fair-balanced, objective clinical and scientific presentations for payers.
• Facilitate reimbursement readiness by identifying payer-relevant evidence gaps and informing RWE needs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate clinical evidence into a context relevant to payers.
• Capture, synthesize, and convey US payer insights to internal stakeholders.
• Lead and coordinate the development, maintenance, and governance of US payer scientific decks and supporting materials.
• Maintain Letters of Medical Necessity along with related templates and resources.
• Work together with Market Access, HEOR/RWE, and Medical teams on payer-facing narratives and evidence.
• Design and deliver training sessions and updates for internal teams regarding payer materials and landscape insights.
• Establish processes for disseminating updates on payer materials and learnings.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company SOPs.
• Advanced scientific degree: PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP, MSN, or MS.
• 5+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
• Experience in supporting an orphan product and/or clinical experience in inborn errors of metabolism, genetics, or rare diseases.
• Preferred experience in Phenylketonuria.
• Experience supporting high-cost products distributed through specialty pharmacy with patient access coordination.
• Hands-on experience engaging with KOLs, clinicians, HCPs, and payers.
• Proficient in delivering fair-balanced presentations to payer audiences and translating complex clinical data into payer-relevant communication.
• Experience in gathering and synthesizing payer insights from plans, PBMs, and Medicaid.
• Working knowledge of RWE and HEOR concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with scientific/technical writing and presentation abilities.
• Experience in interpreting scientific data and presenting research information to scientists and HCPs.
• Capable of presenting at local, regional, and national conferences.
• Experience in developing and conducting training sessions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, organization, and time-management skills.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical delivery process and compliant industry practices.
• Experience in supporting or leading projects aligned with US Medical strategy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Personal automobile with active vehicle insurance.
• Capability to travel daily to and from customer accounts and drive or fly long distances.
• Willingness to undertake required overnight and weekend travel.
• Ability to access hospitals and medical facilities and meet vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background checks, and proof of immunization.
• Willingness to travel 50–60% of the time.
